Himachal Pradesh - Base Camp

Namaste ji (Hello - polite version in Hindi)

Well, the last few days have been interesting.

Firstly, the internet connection is quite bad here, so I have not had alot of chances to respond to any emails or the numerous facebook requests and questions I have had, so my apologies for that.

To answer the comments on my previous post

Mark 1 - Yes, I am funny

Mark 2 - I cant remember exactly what you wrote, but you da bomb

Anon - Thanks for deleting my wall post.

Anyway, things here have been interesting. We got to see the Taj Mahal, which was nice and marbly... I have come to the conclusion that although I have a passing interest in buildings like this, my favourite things are mountains and natural occurances... its much more impressive.

The Taj Mahal.. It's pretty big.. I guess..

The camp that we are staying at is basically in the foothills of the Himalayas and makes for some great photos.. it rains at least once a day due to the Monsoon (it has just started to piss down right now as im typing this) and we have a resident mongoose that I am trying to get a photo of.

We started painting the local school today in nice bright colours, so hopefully the kids have a better environment to learn in. We have also been asked to write a stage play for the kids to act in for the local villages. The organises have requested that we write it about alcohol abuse, which is a big problem in rural parts of India.

This weekend, we are going to Amaristar (spelling?) which is the capital of Punjab to see the Golden Temple. Amaristar is the home of the Sikh religion, which is a branch of Hinduism (I think). The participants of Sikh usually have a beard and wear a turban (think Monty Panesar). They are genuinely nice people for the most part.

We have also started Yoga classes in the morning at 6:30.. which is kinda early, but because its so freakin humid its pretty hard to sleep anyway, so i am making the effort to get up in time for it.

The toilets here are great. They are a hole in the ground. You use a bag for your toilet paper. I shower under a bucket with cold water.

I am keeping a diary of everything that has happened here, and when I get a more decent internet connection, ill go back and fill in the blanks on here so all of you reading my blog (all 3 of u) will know what ive been up to.

Until then, Then Until.

Namaste,
I have a suggestion for the stage play, a group of friends goes to a pub for a farewell on a rainy winter night and they all get hammered on the promotional tequila. A fight breaks out, punches are thrown, drinks are spilled on clothing. There is suspected girl on girl action in the bathroom and the taxi home, generalised groping and the night ends with our star surrounded by tourists in a seedy underground club. The moral of the story can be that drinking has consequences and everyone must face the cold light of day eventually.
Giddy-up!
Gerry ;P

Homes, this blog is too long. May I suggest you spend less time on the Internet blogging and more time getting pissed and chillin out. Not with lesbians either. You can't trust them.
Enjoy yourself bitches!
Begbie.
